About Us

Obsidian Moon Creations began in 2004 by offering our design services to various non-profit organizations. For those non-profit organizations we would design their site and host them on our personal hosting space at no charge. It was in November 2008 that one of the founders, Steve Voorhees, entered a premiere art gallery in Spokane Washington that the business expanded.

The owner of the gallery, the Gallery of THUM, was extremely frustrated. She had hired a company to develop an eCommerce site. The site was built using Joomla! and VirtueMart. She received the site but was unhappy about areas that wouldn't work, or every thought and idea that she wanted was told was not possible. Conversation ensued, and we found that most of what she wanted was built right into the software she already had. Gallery of THUM retained our services and we shifted from being a non-profit 'hobby' to commercial web development. In December 2008 we published her new site, upgrading the software from Joomla! 1.0 to Joomla! 1.5. Later we migrated the store to Magento Commerce due to functionality not available at the time in VirtueMart.

We still hosted all of our sites on our personal accounts, and continued to switch hosts due to poor service or slow speeds. Over the next couple months, between the high costs that many companies charge, poor customer service, or technical support that obviously doesn't know what they are doing, we felt we could do better. And thus was born the Obsidian Moon Creations Hosting Division in March 2009.

We tried different hosting platforms and finally settled on our current platform which allows us to offer exceptional plans, low prices, and an exceptional hosting platform housed in one of the most state of the art datacenters around the world. We only offer the best for our customers, and as such our servers are top rate. All of our servers are minimum Intel dual Xeon quad-core processors, and the servers are monitored 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

Many companies won't put this in print, but we have no shame in doing so: the founders of Obsidian Moon Creations are Christians. As such we run our business with Christian morals, and in everything we do we look to God for guidance. Our slogan pretty much sums us up in three words: HONESTY * INTEGRITY * CREATIVITY.

Also important to note is that we give BACK to our communities. We have made the committment to be benevolent in what we do. So, in being benevolent a minimum of 10% of net profits go to various non-profit organizations.
